UK delegates at Berlin Training 2018 (including me!)
This week I’m focussing on presentations I will be doing for the Climate Reality Project’s 24 hours of Reality – Truth in Action.
Usually at this time of year the organisation has a 24 hour telethon to raise awareness of the climate crisis. This year they are doing things a little differently and are asking Climate Reality Leaders like me to give a presentation (or in my case 3) in their local community.
Face to face interaction and the opportunity to discuss the issue locally raises awareness and hopefully gets people to think more about what they can do to protect the planet, either in their personal lives or by speaking truth to power.
Given that we are in the middle of a General Election campaign here in the UK what better time to speak truth to power and to consider where best to place your vote.
I’m not going to give advice as to where to place your X on your ballot paper (in this article at least) but I do encourage everyone to question candidates about their position on climate change and to ask them what their Parties will do if elected and what they personally are doing to protect the planet.
On Wednesday I’m collaborating with MOO Food to run an event at the Muir Hub. I’ll be sharing information about climate change (presentations at 6.15pm, 7.15pm and 8.15pm) and they will be offering a safe space for informal discussion, consultation. activities and plant based food will be available for attendees.
The Climate Reality Project have offered to plant a tree for each person attending one of my talks. So please come along and sign the form so that your attendance can be counted and a tree planted. It will be an interesting evening and you will be contributing to enhancing the lungs of the planet!
I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday at the Muir Hub.
